“In 2069, it could be far better than it is now, to age out. It could be that nursing homes just become VR paradises of hanging out and gaming with your friends in incredible virtual reality. As gaming culture continues to spread, and technology advances, video games would address many of the problems that bedevil elderly people: loneliness, a lack of mental stimulation, cabin fever.

People with dementia could have their old lives recreated through VR. And jumping off the Wired piece from a while back, if loved ones could be uploaded to AI, they could spend their last years in the company of people who have long since passed. .”
